Zamalek Club announced that the Confederation of African Football CAF approved the team's participation in the African Champions League next season.
Zamalek was able to obtain the African license, after resolving all cases related to the registration ban.
Zamalek's statement came as follows:
The Confederation of African Football "CAF" approved Zamalek Club's obtaining of the license to participate in the African Champions League for the 2026-2027 season, after the club fulfilled all the conditions and requirements for obtaining the license.
Zamalek Club's board of directors explained that the club submitted all the required papers and documents to the Club Licensing Committee, headed by Counselor Mahmoud Abdeen, which reviewed the entire file in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The board affirms that the Licensing Committee handled the file with complete impartiality and transparency, and applied all procedures without any favoritism, as the club also settled four local cases filed against the club by Egyptian players, and worked to resolve them completely through great efforts by Hussein Al-Sayed and Amr Adham, members of the board of directors, in cooperation with Hamza Abdel Wahab, Director of Player Affairs, until these cases were closed and all requirements were met.
Zamalek's board of directors stresses that obtaining the African license was a practical response to all doubters, affirming that it remained silent throughout the past period and preferred to work quietly away from controversy, until all procedures were completed and the club's position was confirmed to be sound.
The board of directors affirms that what matters in the end are actions, not words, and that the goal has always been to close the file in a manner befitting the name and history of Zamalek Club.
